Windlass Strap:
- Features a recording section for time tracking, crucial to prevent tissue necrosis due to prolonged hemostasis.
Windlass Clip:
- Designed with a V-shaped notch for quick and easy locking.
- Made from a new material that resists scuffing and ensures durability.
Windlass Rod:
- Constructed with sturdy metal aluminum, ensuring it’s not easy to break under pressure.
High-Strength Internal Band:
- Engineered to withstand significant traction and torsion, enhancing the reliability and safety of the tourniquet.
- Maintains toughness even after multiple uses (for training purposes only).
Single Routing Buckle:
- Fitted with a solid plastic buckle to ensure fast application time.
- Designed to provide superior bite, reducing chances of loosening during application.
How to apply a Tourniquet:
- REMOVE from First Aid Kit / IFAK / Trauma Kit or Similar.
- INSERT the wounded extremity through the loop of the selfodhering band.
- POSITION the tourniquet above the bleeding site, high on the extremity over the clothing/uniform.
- SECURE elastic bandage tails and knot using tape, prevent the knots from unraveling.
- TWIST the rod until bleeding has stopped (complete steps 1-5 in under 1 min.)
- LOCK the windlass clip.
- ROUTE the self-adhering band around the rod and between the clips.
- SECURE with the windlass safety strap.
